City
of Garbage collection in the
city is on Tuesday or Wednesday – divided by the railroad tracks. Tuesday
collections are on the south side of the tracks and Wednesday collections are
on the north side of the tracks. Holidays: Memorial Day and Labor Day are Monday holidays so pick up is a day after your regular pick up day.
When Christmas Day, New Years Day,
or July 4th are on a Monday or Tuesday, collection is a day later.
If any of these days fall on a Wednesday, only the regular Wednesday
collection is a day later. White Goods: Stoves, refrigerators, clothes washers and dryers, water heaters, water softeners Dishwashers, microwaves and
similar items require a special pick up with a separate fee. To contract for
these items call the waste hauler: Veolia Environmental Services (262-367-6040). Approved Containers: Containers shall be of metal or plastic up to 32-gallons. Plastic garbage bags shall be considered approved containers if closed by means of a tie. Approved containers shall not weigh more that 60 pounds when full. Plastic bags shall be of sufficient strength to allow lifting and loading of contents without tearing. Containers shall be kept clean and in a sanitary condition at all times. Containers not approved consist of metal barrels and drums, wooden or cardboard barrels, wheelbarrows and other containers not approved by this ordinance. These containers will not be emptied regardless of content or weight. All containers shall be
removed within 24 hours after the regular collection time. Scavenging:
No person shall scavenge any refuse. Yard Waste:
Annual yard waste schedules are
included in the city tax bills. The
